Went out to visit my son yesterday at Potter County Detention - TopicsExpress

Went out to visit my son yesterday at Potter County Detention Center (his spring break vacation)....and sitting behind a woman and man waiting to see her daughter I overheard a bizarre exchange. The young lady who was incarcerated was attempting to dial the phone from inside the visitation room and couldnt do it properly (until one of the other parents speaking to their daughter stopped and showed her the procedure). Once she got it working and mom was on the phone the young lady was in tears and practically hyperventilating while her mom was trying to calm her down from the other side of the glass. Mom tells her that she had gotten $400 together from a savings account to help with her bail, then told her that she knew how bad it was in there from the times she had spent there but they were doing everything to get her out asap. Im thinking really.....mom is experienced at this!! Then I told my husband when I got home to remind me of this so I dont go off the deep end and kill my son sometime, because I definitely wouldnt want to be there for any amount of time!! Why do these people keep going back???? I hate going out to visit, its dirty and depressing and I cry all the way home just trying to reason in my mind how my son ended up out there in the first place. After 9 years of this, as a mother, why do we keep praying and hoping that this will be the wake-up call and whatever it is our children are dealing with mentally will somehow magically heal them. I need prayers for the strength to see him through this before I die one day. God never takes away a parents love.....
