Went to Abandon Pet Rescue today, a no kill shelter. I made myself the Christmas Committee. Besides bringing some weekly supplies of paper towels and bleach, I am designing cat and dog holiday gift baskets for people to purchase and give to the shelter pets, a sign-up list at holiday time (16 days this year for us) for kids to come in and visit and help out for an hour a day. Working on a lesson discount to start donations, creating an Abandon Pet Rescue band to play at fundraisers, and all around exposure and advertising for the shelter animals. The 200 pets were fine, mostly content cats. Mostly, my heart poured out to the faces of the hard working people, the angels cleaning and coping with the overload. That got me wanting to help at the Land of the Misfit Toys. They were also in need. I have a mission!
