a little tiny tale of a little tiny happy moment from the world of stuff that you own and that can be kind of annoying if you dont look for the happy other side of things: the lock button on my (free) iphone broke exactly on the day my applecare ran out; vaguely disgruntled, i venture over to Very Large Telecommunications Company whose name begins with the letter v, where i got this phone a year ago. it is suggested to me that i take advantage of a plan that they are making me feel very privileged to be offered, at an extra $30 a month, and for this i can get a NEW PHONE! no says i, the person who had to just cancel their cable like last month. i then head over to apple store, who isnt remaining nameless, for the second time in two days, (the luck of working in a mall!), hoping to plead my way into im not sure what. extremely nice, extremely tattooed kid tells me that for only $150 i can get a NEW PHONE. again, uh, no. so just as im about to lob the phone into the genius bar, he tells me there is a software workaround for the lock button, and goes into the phone and activates it and now, ta-da! i have a software version of the lock button, dontcha know. how exciting! now i dont have to spend a darn dollar on this strange device i have such mixed feelings about. a simple thing he did that almost brought me to tears.... #hormones..... i was so happy i went back to give this nice kid samples from my store, flashed him the peace sign and he gave me a hug. thanks to that nice kid at apple, i will not be throwing the phone into the toilet! and the moral of this tiny story is that people are amazing....! i hope everyone is aware of the little things that are done for them every day and that they acknowledge them when they happen....... people do really appreciate it...... but dont do for that, do it because its the right thing to do.....!
