Went with Wilma West to Mt Vernon animal shelter to take some stray cats for TNR which they say they dont do. While there a man brings in a dog that had been hit by a car. It was wrapped in a towel and you could see it was bleeding but thats it. He handed it to the vet who took him into his office. I started to ask the ladies up front if someone wanted to pay for the vet bills could he be looked at they said we will be euthanizing him. He is paralyzed. Okay lady how do you know when you havent even seen him and he had not been examined yet? I went out to my car and took a breather and went back in because I wanted to make sure this little guy got checked out. So I asked to speak to the vet that took him back so the girl goes back and I could hear her talking to the vet than she came out and said hes in a meeting. I told her yeah right isnt that convenient. I told her if your going to put him down I want to take him to my vet and have him checked out and I will pay for all his care. She than told me well hes already been euthanized! He had not even been there 5 min and that is not exaggeration. So as I am yelling at her for what she just said another lady comes out and says the dogs leg was broken so I told her A BROKEN LEG CAN BE FIXED! Than she tries to justify it some more by saying the skin was peeled off from road rash and again LADY SKIN CAN HEEL! They euthanized this dog in less than 5 min of him coming through the door. DISGUSTING! Than the vet wouldnt even come out and talk to me. I wont say the name I have for him but its a four letter word. Its like they put a needle in this dogs arm and than disregarded him like a piece of trash! They would rather kill him than let someone try to save him!
