Were around seven weeks away from finding out whether or not our application to bring the Red Arrows (along with a host of other fantastic aircraft, pictured) to Herne Bay on Saturday 15th August of this year has been successful. The Herne Bay Amy Johnson Memorial 2015 Airshow will potentially attract the biggest crowds the town has ever seen for a one day event, and will be by far our biggest opportunity to promote the town, something that has always been top of our agenda with what we do as a voluntary team. We have ring-fenced all funds received in respect of specifically securing the services of the Red Arrows, and in the unfortunate event that we are unsuccessful in our bid, the Red Arrow funds will be carried forward until such time as our application is accepted. Thank you to all those that have pledged and donated to even make the Red Arrows application possible. One way or another, it will be eyes to the skies mid-August in Herne Bay, and hopefully the weather will be kinder to us than last year. Once again as part of the day we have a stage with live music on the Clock Tower Plaza planned, and we hope youll all join us for what will be a very memorable day for the town. In the meantime, fingers crossed, and thank you for your continued support :)
