Were delighted to announce that the Tesco Ballymoney Store Community Champion, Jackie, joined a local initiative which has now resulted in a cross-community drop-in centre. “We started off with an empty shop. It needed double electrical sockets, a kitchen and wash hand basin to get it passed by the local council. We have turned it into a cross community shop for Ballymoney. Our Tesco instore technician rewired the shop, did the plumbing for the kitchen and wash hand basin, fitted new lighting, fitted 8 double sockets, a water heater, wired in the cooker and hood and fitted a new fuse box. We also bought them a new microwave. This shop is called The Open Door - for all walks of life from young to old. We will be sending over Tesco managers to teach a group of young people core skills about interviewing. There will also be a knitting and crochet classes. Basically its a drop-in centre for anyone who needs a chat” Congratulations to Jackie and all the team at Tesco Ballymoney!
