Were now just one day out from our drive and are getting some questions on what is and isnt accepted. Wed love to accept everything because we know every item you donate is an act of love and kindness to all those who lost their homes. And were truly moved by your giving spirit. But many of these storm victims are in shelters sleeping on cots and have no way to store some household items like furniture or kitchenware. And with donations pouring in from literally all over the Midwest, facilities have run out of space to store these items. So thats why we need to stick to the items theyve requested from us, which are all below: -Gift Cards to Walmart, Target, Menards, Lowes, Aldi and Kroger (we will accept gift cards, but cannot accept financial donations) -Work gloves, basic tools -Storage bins -new underwear and socks (all ages) -baby formula, diapers, wipes, jarred food -Toiletries -NEW toys they can distribute as Christmas presents to kids -flashlights & batteries -first aid kits -Pet supplies (food, cat litter, leashes, collars) -Clorox wipes -Entertainment items (cards, board games, etc.) -towels and dust rags -garbage bags -blankets -plastic sheets & tarps Were told their needs for clothing and bottled water have already been met. However, we will still take these items if you have already started collecting them for the drive. Please help us spread this information by sharing with your friends. Thanks for all you are doing to support the recovery of these hard-hit areas. It truly does make a difference. Springfield Helps Donation Drive Sat. Nov. 23 at the Ace Hardware at 1600 Wabash 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
