Were you one of the popular kids in school? Did you follow all the latest trends and styles? What happens when the popular choice isn’t the God choice? Are you so committed to Christ that you don’t mind going against the grain for Him? Today’s society says that the majority of us tend to “ go with the flow” rather than blaze a God trail. The characters in today’s passage were so sold out for God that they risked their own lives to do the God thing instead of the popular thing. The awesome news is that if you stick out your proverbial neck for God, He won’t leave you hanging. He is faithful to those who are committed and will never leave you nor forsake you. Absolute commitment means everything you do won’t be popular; but it will be God. When everyone else bows, will you still be standing? Popularity on earth has nothing to do with your reward in Heaven. Thank God!
