Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD), in collaboration with Industry Canada, is hosting two Information Sessions in Western Canada on the newly announced Value Proposition Guide. ictam.ca/events/partner-events/61-defence-procurement-strategy-s-value-proposition-industry-day On December 19, 2014, the Government released the Value Proposition Guide, which will serve as a starting point for discussions with industry on a procurement-by-procurement basis. The Value Proposition Guide is a new tool for fostering investment in the Canadian industry. The guide will ensure that the Government of Canadas Defence Procurement Strategy will result in the creation of high-skilled jobs and economic growth across the Canadian economy. The Industry Days will include: • Presentations from Senior Officials from Industry Canada and Western Economic Diversification; • Question and Answer period with Officials from Industry Canada, Public Works and Government Services Canada, and the Department of National Defence; and • A networking opportunity for companies to establish the relationships necessary to leverage long term industrial benefits. To build upon the key themes outlined in the Value Proposition Guide, WD and its partners will host the annual Western Innovation Forum in Spring 2015. The Forum will build upon the success of WD’s previous innovation fora and link western Canadian industry with opportunities in defence and security market.
