When I met Gloria last October, I already knew that I would ask her to be one of our straight allies. On Thursday evening, May 1, 2014 the Ms. Foundation for Women will hold an 80th birthday bash for Gloria at its annual gala, the Gloria Awards: A Salute to Women of Vision and 40 Years at the Ms. Foundation for Women, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. There will be many notable guests dropping in to extend their birthday wishes to Gloria. This is going to be a historic event and you can’t miss this! Other remarkable women are helping us to make this a once in a lifetime celebration. Actor and activist Kathy Najimy is directing a presentation of original essays/monologues for Gloria — written and performed by Kathy, Jennifer Lopez, Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler, Gabourey Sidibe and more.
