Weve rescheduled Katies ultrasound for next Thursday, after another talk with the specialist. He reassured me about a few things (described the experience, as well as the challenges, of trying to look at the liver of a deep-chested dog, and what he might be seeing, including the possibility of a blood clot in the big vein leading to the liver; and told us he would allow us to split the cost into three payments if need be), but were still more comfortable waiting a few more days, letting her *hopefully* build some reserves and stability. So we went for a walk, and she ate blackberries and barked at a samoyed and sniffed at goose poop and dog-stuff.
