We’re getting ready to drive over to my mom’s house for Christmas Eve, a tradition in our family that stretches back for close to 50 years! But I wanted to post a special song for tonight, written with Krissy Nordhoff and David Moffitt. All the familiar moments of the story that we talk about every year—the inn with no room, the shepherds, the angels, the wise men who saw his star, the stable, the baby asleep in the manger—none of that came as a surprise to the Father. And in every moment, there is something that brings glory to Him. Look for it as you celebrate tonight and tomorrow. My sweet friend Allie Lapointe posted this story last week, and I hope she won’t mind if I share it with you. She was listening to some children sing “O Come All Ye Faithful,” and one little guy was singing, “O come let us ignore Him, o come let us ignore Him…” Pretty funny, right? I know that not a one of us has any intention of ignoring Jesus tonight. But something I heard in a sermon a few weeks ago has stuck with me. The pastor said very few of us would say we have “no room” for Jesus. But many of us are guilty of saying we have “a room” for HIm. We fit Him in with all the other parts of our lives, our families, careers, friends, church, hobbies… “O come let us adore Him” tonight! He deserves to be at the very center of everything we do and everything we are. Let all of it bring Him glory.
