What American Christianity doesnt understand is that God is not a means to an end. God is the end. God is not your means to financial stability, God is your financial stability. God is not your means to a blessing, God IS your blessing. This is how you can distinguish the spirit of God and the spirit of the world. The spirit of the world takes you to a place where you are sufficient in yourself. The spirit of God brings you to a place where you are absolutely dependent on Him. Anything that doesnt require you to live by faith is not of God. The JUST shall live by faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin. Romans 14:23b
