Doctor Tardy” Hi Doctor Tardy, The entire spring season at Blue Cypress Lake is awesome, with the best months being March and April. The best times would be two to three days before the new and full moons. Its very common to have double-digit bass days and I dont mean just 10 bass, I mean 10 big bass. The lake record is a little over 18 pounds. I would make sure I had some really good polarized glasses. Better off with two pairs, which can be quite expensive. But it is the most important tool on your boat. HPIM0027-pk-450 The Captain himself with a nice-sized Florida bass. Notice the sunglasses ... I would have one pair of sunglasses in the sunrise (yellow) color and the other in the green mirror with the copper or amber interior. This will let you see fish on cloudy and sunny days. As far as baits, this is the time of year that the bass are not very picky. I would definitely have some lizard and creature type baits for bass on the beds. Otherwise these are the baits that on this lake produce decent bass. Dark colored plastic worms, spinner baits with Colorado blades, and Poppers. Of course shiners (live bait) are always a killer for bass in the lake. I attached a link to a top-water bass article written by one of our writers. I thought you would enjoy it.
