What Do You Remember About Your Neighborhood in The 50s and 60s.. I remember.. Little Johnnys on Park and Cleaves Ave., Fayes (husband and wife), Lambs market (I just remember crabby Mr. Lamb), That Red roof Liquor store on race... were some strange people,... Rex dry cleaners next door they moved down the street on Race,.....and dont for forget Alaimos Barber Shop. Then we had the bars...Martys place and the Villa Roma on Park Ave. & Sunol ... The Produce Stand was called Harrys at Park and Race and the Signal Gas Station across from Lambs....high end Furniture Stores, Nelsons, Pratts on Park Ave.. Hills on Race st and. A Burger Stand on Race st......The Richfield and Shell Stations Lincoln and San Carlos,..Do you also remember The Pickle Factory at Sunol and Pacific st. across from Sunol school.. Sams Bar, The Junk Yard between Sunol st. and McEvoy st. The Union Ice Co..Sears and across the street was Joes Pic-A-Rib it caught on fire and move to Meridian ave. 76 gas and Chevron station on Race and San Carlos..The Motorcycle shop next door to my old house..Farmer brothers Coffee and Rosendin electric on Park ave...(The Richfield gas station Park ave and Lincoln...My Dad told me to go get some gas in a gallon can, he give me 50 cent..I told the guy give me 50 cent of gas he said I cant do it ..I went home and told my Dad he went back with me and asked why the guy said the can will not hold 50 cent wroth of gas) The Garage behine it Henrys (I think that was his name) Jimmy Arnold Meats on Sunol st. (Peter Cefalu worked at it from 6 years old).
