What I Have To Tell You You must not fear my love It expects - TopicsExpress

What I Have To Tell You You must not fear my love It expects nothing from you. You should not mistrust my friendship. It does not wish to own you. Once upon a time, in a dark, dark night, the spirits came and stowed away in my heart a hoard of love. That gift was given while I was asleep. When I woke, love surged over the banks of my heart. The sad, the lonely, came to snatch it away. Love stayed full, though. I poured it into goblets. I wandered beneath the boundless sky, across vast open spaces, through deserted waysides. I held in my hands the overflowing goblet. You should feel not guilty about my love; I do not hold out to you what I took back from another; have I not told you of the love that withers unfelt, of the goblet that brims over? I want to make some things clear. If you come to me someday do not assume the gestures of the king who goes to meet his slave. I do not need rent- free land, or provinces to rule. Do not wear the mien, of a god before his devotee. I have no boons to ask of you. My soul is not arid that it should be filled with your radiance. Like one emperor to another, like one friend to another, come to me as an equal. Like a flute pursuing the tune, Like the question seeking its answer, may your steps be as light and as carefree… (Enikku Ninnodu Parayanullathu, from the collection Vakkukal Chekkerunnidam) എനിക്ക് നിന്നോട് പറയാനുള്ളത് .... റോസ്മേരി eng. translation.
