What a beautiful tapestry of hope, of grace, and of love God wove together when our Savior was born. It never ceases to amaze and humble me that the Creator longs...yearns for a relationship with his Creation. In the Scriptures we encounter a God who moves toward us, who seeks to draw us to Himself, who knows us intimately and passionately and who invites us to know Him the same way. Of all Gods creation we alone are made in His image. We alone are given the capacity to respond to Gods initiative, to love Him in return, to know Him, and to enjoy His companionship. Even when, through sin, we rejected Gods initiative, God immediately set into motion a plan whereby His estranged loved ones would be restored to intimate fellowship with Himself. The Birth of Jesus and, later, his Death on the Cross is the greatest love story known to man. It transcends all understanding. As I spend time with my beautiful family this week, I sit in wonder, absolute wonder, when I think of God and His passionate love for us. Drink from the deep wells of His divine love today, as we celebrate Christmas. Drink from it all year long. He longs to know you.
