What a night. So many great friends dined with us and I made so - TopicsExpress

What a night. So many great friends dined with us and I made so much delicious food for them including some petite Maine lobster rolls, herb-crusted lamb chops with creamy kale polenta, the Calabrese drunken mussels I posted about earlier, etc... ...And then, we served some crazy lady well call Heidi who thinks she knows me (no clue?) and complained her sous vide lobster risotto was salty. So my staff prepared her another, which she also found salty (but ate the sous vide lobster. I always love that). At some point, she got up and stormed into my kitchen (I was tableside with guests and missed that drama). My terrific staff, bushwhacked and exasperated at this point, apologized, discounted her check, and she left... then called us. I finally got the call, l spoke with her, apologized, asked what we could have done to improve her experience (after interminable blathering the conclusion was put less salt!!!). I found her implacable and possibly insane, so I ended the call as politely as I could. My staff and I love our guests. We genuinely want them to have a great experience and we work very hard to deliver one. And if we ever fall short, we redouble our efforts to recover. And Ill prob pay for this post somehow in this overly-sensitive age, and Heidis Yelp review will probably be scathing and rambling (All over salty risotto--it wasnt. We tasted it). So, let me say: I instructed my staff that she is banned from Aldos. Life is too short for this kind of BS. And, frankly, I dont take kindly to anyone storming my kitchen uninvited. You can tour my kitchen any time you like, if you ask politely.
