What a priviledge it was today to see my Son, Gary Littlejohn, ordained to be a Deacon in his church!! I was so proud of him as he stood tall and accepted the responsibility and honor of what a deacons job was in the church!! Their church is growing and therefore needed two more deacons! I think that the death of my Grandson, Christopher Littlejohn, whose lives had touched so many is partly responsible for this growth. I would like to think so anyway!! The pastor used the same verses in ll Timothy that we have heard many times but never grows old, of what the deacons jobs are: Servants of the church!! To think of my little boy growing up and taking on the job of husband, father, (whose has lost a Son), and the owner of their own businesses, now taking on this responsibility of serving his church as a deacon humbles and makes me proud to be his Mother!! May God bless him as he continues to grow in his Christian faith!!
