What a story of true love! The man in the photo is named Jesse. Jesse served in Afghanistan in 2009 when he walked over an IED landmine and he had to have both of his legs amputated. This forced him to leave the military early… But because of the injury he was in San Diego and was attending a local swim meet with his new prosthetic legs. That’s where he meet the woman who would soon become his wife – amputee and wifeKelly. “His personality and who he is just outweighs his injuries by so much that you forget about it after a while,” Kelly explained. They got married about a year ago in August. They also went on a recent trip to Idaho to take some photos together. In the middle of the photo shoot, Kelly was carrying her husband Jesse back to his prosthetic legs, and the photographer asked if they could get some shots with her carrying him. The couple didn’t think much of it, and obliged. Later this photo was posted on facebook by Sarah Ledford who was also their photographer, and instantly generated massive viral response and people voicing their support and love for the couple. Sarah said, “Jesse is not a hero for stepping on an IED, he’s a hero because of the way he has handled what was handed to him and how he chooses to continue to conduct his life with his positive attitude.” Truly they are a symbol of love that goes beyond physical setbacks. :) What do you think of this amazing couple?
