What an amazing iron ritual + tribe run we had today. Banged out squats bench press pull ups calve raises and push ups at the gym. Then hit a nature trail alongside a spectacular rocky river bed in the hills. After a mile or so of trail running we decided to get off the path and cross into the rocks in the river itself. One of our running tribesman members is a professional Parkour instructor and so he led us on a expedition of literally leaps and bounds over the rocks protruding out of the flowing rapids. We worked on our balance and jumping, using both feet and hands to navigate the slippery staggered path down the twisting river. On one of the crossings it was a wide leap from one rock to the next and one of our brothers missed the mark and fell into a deep hole in the river cutting his shin badly on the sharp rock edge. He caught himself and another comrade helped him get to the bank. We all had to make the same crossing. It was a challenging and exhilarating adventure. Our brother who injured himself started to feel lightheaded from the shock and needed to sit and collect himself. We all sat on the bank side and began to meditate. One of our other brothers is an herbalist and can recognize healing and edible plants, so he went and found some plantain leaf to dress the wound with. He tied it on to the leg with one of his socks. I asked our injured bro to lean on a nearby tree for energy and then a comrade suggested that he would hug him to give him energy as well. Then I also applied some energy to his kidney area. In a few moments of breathing and energy exchange bro was like I feel better my head stop spinning my leg stopped hurting and we were back running on the trail. It was a blessed and special moment we shared. I am so thankful. Salute to New child, Akin, Cosmo, Malik and Shiek for sharing an awesome day of warrior training. #greatness #rbgfit
