What are you doing to train your mind and get it out of its comfort zone? Its important to get your mind out of its comfort zone on a daily basis. This can take on several forms; learning a new language or instrument, meditating or doing a physical activity that requires complete mental focus. Today I am mountain biking 32 miles in Guatemala. This is taking me out of my comfort zone because I havent mountain biked in years and Im new to Guatemala, so I have no idea what to expect. As I ride up a steep hill, I know that its my mind that will want to give up before my body. As I zoom down the single track on the way back, I know I must focus on every turn, every rock, every bump to make sure I make the right decision so I can complete the ride without injury. Find something each day that you have to do with total mental focus, and watch your life expand in ways you wouldnt have thought possible. The other benefit: when you are diving in with complete mental focus on an activity, youll forget about the negative going ons in your life; the stresses and troubles you may be going through. Its a beautiful thing.
