What bits do you all use on your OTTBs? I am having so much trouble trying to find out what bit to use on my gelding. I originally used a slow twist D ring. That didn’t work well at all. Whenever he would bolt the bit was not strong enough, he acted as if he didn’t even have a bit in his mouth. So I switched him to the bit that is pictured below with a curb chain. He now listens to the bit but he has started throwing his head up trying to get away from the bit. So what bit would you all suggest using?
