What can you do to Save yourself? People can no more save themselves than they can fly to the moon. Both are utterly impossible. And because of our spiritual condition and the spiritual laws of God, we stand a greater assurance of making our spiritual condition Worse instead of better by trying to save ourselves, through our works, good deeds or following church rules. Why, because in doing those things, you begin to grow dependent and rely on them for your salvation. Which brings self righteousness and pride, which then produces Judging of others. Paul says that we ALL, were dead. We ALL, had decrees written against us that we were powerless to remove, no matter what we did. But, God made us alive together with Christ and removed the decrees against us by nailing them to the cross, in verses 13-14, below. Instead ALL of US, must gain salvation ONLY by Gods Grace through Faith, alone, in Christ and what He has done....OR ELSE YOU CANNOT BE SAVED AT ALL. Colossians 2:13-23 When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, 14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. (for all) 15 When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him (Jesus). 16 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day- 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. 18 Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshly mind, 19 and not holding fast to the head, from whom the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God. 20 If you have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world, why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to decrees, such as, 21 Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch! 22 (which all refer to things destined to perish with use )-in accordance with the commandments and teachings of men? 23 These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement (bringing low) and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence. Why did God make it that way? To remove any boasting in the Body of Christ. All enter into the Body of Christ by Faith in what Jesus has done for their Salvation. God wants equality for entering the Body of Christ. That is why, no matter who God brings into your path each day, you are to treat them all equal. The rich and the poor, the sick and the healthy, the educated and the unlearned. Because ALL of them have to enter into Salvation and the Body of Christ the same way! And remember Jesus died for ALL! Who would come in Faith, not bragging on what they have accomplished in this world, from their own efforts. Too many times Born Again Believers and churches, Judge someone new who comes into their path and based on this Judgment, decide to speak to them about Salvation. Remember Jesus died for ALL, and if you set yourself up as a Judge of Whom you want to proclaim Salvation to, you might be a Stumbling Block to those who are destined for Salvation.
