What do I think when I hear of young men and children dying of - TopicsExpress

What do I think when I hear of young men and children dying of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy? I ask, Why me? Why do I have the privilege of living for 32 years? More than anything however, it absolutely crosses my mind that I might be next. It just doesn’t bother me anymore. You see I’ve come to a point in life where I’m only grateful for everything I have; my ability to breathe, eat, sleep, etc., and whatever tomorrow brings, AWESOME. This is about focusing on life, one day at a time, without fear or worry. I’m not afraid of death because I’m living right now. And taking a page from my favourite woman in the Bible, Esther: “…and if I perish, I perish.” DMD will never make me lose the battle because truth be told, I’ve already won.
