Say you are watching a sitcom that had the following plot: Characters: Becky- Chads ex girlfriend, complete stranger to Will Chad- Beckys ex boyfriend Will- Chads friend, complete stranger to Becky. Sarah- Chads little sister; stranger to Will. They are gathered at a local restaurant for Sarahs birthday. Will starts being what he thinks is funny. He is messing with Chad about a funny embarrassing thing that happened to him a couple years ago that didnt really involve Becky. Chad is laughing. Becky has just come back from the bathroom and sees Will making fun of Chad about whatever didnt involve Becky. Becky (to Will:) Why are you so immature and rude?! (Will is silent and so is Chad. Will feels immediately threatened and embarrassed. He is not part of the group really He also feels his blood begin to boil because of Becky and he is becoming increasingly angry. The conversation awkwardly gets shifted onto a different subject, but then Becky changes it back to Will.) Becky: Why are you so immature and rude?! This isnt about you. (At this point Will has had it. He doesnt care whos birthday it is.) Will: (to Becky) What? Becky: You heard me. This is Sarahs birthday. This isnt about you! you are ruining what is a beautiful memory for her. (this is really loud and other people are beginning to listen in. Chad is silent and Will is pissed at Chad for not saying anything.) Will: hey wtf?! why are you being such a c-word to me? You dont even know me. Chad: hey dont call her a c-word man! You dont call a girl a c word! Sarah: yeah, you seriously need to grow up. Will: If the shoe fits, dick! oh and btw thank you for joining the conversation! Where were you 20 seconds ago?! Chad: Dude, Im done with you, Call me when you grow up. (Everyone exits and the episode is over and the audience is left wondering what just happened.) So if you were watching this show, who would you side with and why? Or would you think they were all right and all wrong? Who is the person who was the most wrong? Who was the person who was the most right? Should Will apologize for anything? Should Becky? Should Chad?
