What great news the Fitzgeralds shared yesterday: Here is a kindness post that we are truly pleased to announce. We were contacted by Chief Jesse James of the Altoona Police and Fire Department with some amazing news. He informed us that our wonderful family and friends have donated $4,300 in memory of Karter to the Altoona Fire and Rescue Squad! Chief James is working with the DNR, Excel Energy and the Eau Claire County Park system to place safety/warning buoys near the dam on Altoona lake where Karters accident occurred. They are planning to call them Karters Buoys. They are also hoping to add some warning signage around the dam area. Any remaining funds will be used for equipment for the Altoona Fire and Rescue Team. Words cannot describe how thankful we are for the overwhelming response that we have received on our request for donations to the Altoona Fire Department. These donations will help to inform and hopefully prevent another injury or loss of life at the Altoona dam site. Thank you to everyone that made a donation on Karters behalf.
