What happen to the meet and greet ? This past Sunday October 12th was advertised by one of the Admins of this group as a day suggested for members of the group to have a meet and greet session celebrating the Miami’s West Indian Carnival. Not being one of the organizing parties, and residing only 20 minutes away from this proposed event, I thought it was incumbent of me as one of the leaders of the group and one who stated publicly to be present at the event. I was embarrassed and surprised to know that it seems like my cousin who travelled from Orlando and myself were the only two that showed up on Sunday. To date no one has identified themselves as members of the group during the time we were there between 8.00 a.m. -11.15a.m. I decided to wait over 72 hours before speaking out on this issue, because I wanted to give the organizer(s) the benefit of the doubt to come back to the group with some sort of explanation (s) or report of the success or nonsuccess of the event. As we all have witnessed nothing of this sort was done or maybe I’m missing something. This actually left me with some questions that I think are legitimate and well warranted: What actually happened? Was the event cancelled or postponed? Where are the evidence to show that if it took place to show to the group? Where are the event organizers? Why are they not saying nothing or report to the group? What are the reason (S) for the silence? Don’t they think that they have an obligation to report to the group and say what happened for the no show? If infact it was so, Was the event venue changed, was the time changed? Are we supposed to be taken for a joke, granted or to be treated as if we’re not important to know what happened? Why Why Why Why? In addition the organizer (s) has the responsibility to explain to the group what actually happened regardless if some may disagree. The fact that something is said is more important than nothing said I ‘m going to be candid (i.e. very straight up) with my remarks here, to me if we cannot trust your word, why should we trust your actions? Your word should be trusted by the people you represent, your reliability should means something, and so is your responsibility, dependability, and accountability. This has left me personally with a bad taste in my mouth (mind) and many questions about your leadership is left to be desired. I have lost respect for the organizers of this event for all of the reasons that I stated in the above. This is an embarrassment, disrespect, disappointment to the group, and for me as member of the Administration of this group. I don’t think I should and not be muzzled for saying this is totally unacceptable. I will say it as I see it regardless of the consequences or outcome of this post. If the organizers of an event cannot even show up to an event that they themself (ves) organized how can they expect anyone else to do so? Some of us are quick to criticize others, and I do expect my detractors to do so on this post but I SHOWED UP. I’m a man of PRINCIPLE who has gave my word and have posted the evidence via photos to prove it. I took the time I postponed my personal commitments for the representation and commitments to this group especially as a leader of the group .WHERE WERE YOU?, YOU ‘RE RESPONSIBLE TO COME CLEAN AND SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT AND COME OF OUT OT HIDING AND BREAK YOUR SILENCE. I’m still willing to give you (or them) the benefit of the doubts, but only for so long.
