What happened in 2014? Damn, it has been a hell of a year. Seriously, one of the best EVER for me. - Worked at the busiest restaurant in Canada. What a rush! As many coworkers at my current work as about all the rest of my cooking career put together. - Irken Expansion. Yes, we organized a party in another city. It was a smashing success. - Played at the bike rave. In 2013 going to the bike rave would have been pretty high on my best list from the year. It was this year as well, only cranked up to over 9000 by the fact that I got to have my set included in the official mix. Approximately 7000 people raved to my DJ set, as it played from literally HUNDREDS of sound systems all over downtown Vancouver. I dont recall a time I felt more elation than during that set when it got to... -My German Sparkle Party remix. OFFICIAL German Sparkle Party remix. That I did with Andrew Haan . Our musical collaborations just keep being super awesome. -Opened for Space Tribe. Yep. Dream come true, right there. -German Sparkle Party in Seattle. First time ever visiting Seattle. Man it was amazing. -Luis Goddyns party. This was a life changer. Just... Write. -Asked to be Peter F Axnicks best man. Honored and thrilled to be be able to be there for my one of my dearest friends on his blessed day. Im so happy for him and Midge Jay! Love you guys! -Of Doom! First time ever throwing a party for Halloween or any special date. It was a smashing success! Heres hoping we can put together even more shows in 2015 -Film Sound. OMG this makes me even more excited for 2015. Ive been on 4 shoots so far, all in the last few months, and I love love love it. -Electronic Computers, and deciding to call the Neurogenesis and Zen Zero project Starwisp. A few more tracks and were going to be getting close to album territory. Maybe this year? -Alluvium and Valhalla. Festival round up this year. Not a huge number of festivals, but they were both awesome. -Flat Eric at Valhalla. My favorite DJ moment from 2014, (notwithstanding German Sparkle Party at the bike rave, but that was prerecorded) at a certain point during my set, somebody arrives with a Flat Eric doll and is dancing with him up in front of the dance floor. Im like ZOMG I TOTALLY HAVE THAT TRACK! A furious moment of crate digging (cd wallet page turning?) and a quick bpm-calculation later, and I kill the bass on the storming electric universe track was playing so the only bass audible is the kick drum in the intro for flat beat by Mr Oizo. Everybody is looking confused like huh? Where is the bass.... Then wooomp wooomp that iconic bassline kicks in to go with Flat Eric, and the dancefloor Blows. Up. Yeah, that made me feel like a Real DJ :) Anyway, those are just some of the highlights of an over the top amazing year. If 2015 is half as good as 2014 itll still be one of the best years of my life.
