What is LOVE? I don’t remember falling in love. It wasn’t - TopicsExpress

What is LOVE? I don’t remember falling in love. It wasn’t abnormally fast or intense. the transition was slow and gradual, and to be honest, that terrified me. I hadn’t been in a love before that wasn’t a tornado spinning out of control and ripping my emotions from my chest like they didn’t belong to me. I couldn’t explain love when it happened, and I sure as hell couldnt explain it now. There was no definition I could look to to make it real, nor was there a burst of butterflies trying to find their way out of the pit of my stomach when I heard his voice. There was literally no warning sign that love was on the way. I think that was good for me though. It showed me that I could truly use my head and heart in unison without one or the other vying for my undivided attention. This time around, adoration and attention didn’t make me seem crazy. It’s almost like God said, ‘you are now mature enough to have a healthy romantic connection with another human being.’ that’s when I knew it was meant for me, when I could indulge in it and not feel sick…when I could breathe in it and not feel like I would eventually suffocate. When I could believe in it and not have doubts. That’s when I knew real and genuine love. My love language was no longer full of uncertainties or stutters, possessiveness or manipulation. It was simply something that was shared and could be enjoyed. This love was the pure kind, ya know? no tricks or gimmicks just growth and understanding. It was the kind that didn’t leave me saying ‘what the hell is this shit? and instead of saying this cant be love, i started realizing oh, so this is real love… This all may sound confusing but it makes so much sense to me now. like, the love I have now didn’t come to me with the intent of being anything magical. We made it magical by allowing it to blossom and take root into our spirits. Sometimes it is just that simple. #beautifullyspoken
