What is it that makes it possible for a small Village such as Great Brak River to get together a team of Voluntary workers and sterilize 108 cats and dogs from disadvantaged homes in one day? The answer lies in a wonderful community spirit, not only of the local vets, businesses and helpers, but also the superb support offered by the Garden Route SPCA and a host of like-minded people from the surrounding area.....AND the common thread that runs through all of these people is their love for animals and willingness to give so much to alleviate suffering. Last Saturday CAWS 4 PAWS managed this impressive task, and we have done this for six years in a row making a total in excess of 600 animals that have been neutered resulting in thousands of unwanted and potentially neglected cats and dogs being born. This also assists in preventing the spread of sickness such as cat flu/AIDS etc. All animals are also vaccinated against rabies.
