What is really worrying me about Russian propaganda is not that it - TopicsExpress

What is really worrying me about Russian propaganda is not that it is distorting reality in a Kafkian way. I can deal with this - after all, after Iraq war and the media propaganda around that each person in the world should be ready that she/he is being lied to. But the Russian propaganda, which assumed the right to talk on so many vital issues (like dissident movement sin the West), really delegitimizes any discussions on these issues by those people who really are genuinely concerned. My Ukrainian activist friends complain that they do not even know which language should they use to criticize the right-wing radicals or the misdeeds of their government because that would play into the hands of Kremlin. I cant engage into any meaningful critical discussion about the US policies or imperialism of Western states because it is seen as repetition of Kremlins discourse. I had been thinking that once all the major superpowers will have their own propaganda machines on air, this will help to diversify the media discourses but it turned out other wise, and it made things look so utterly dull, that whatever you say you end up reiterating someones propaganda.
