What is the purpose of being saved through works? It negates the entire concept of free will. Free will is defined as: the power of acting without the constraint of necessity or fate; the ability to act at ones own discretion. Once a reward or punishment is required from someone, their will becomes constrained by the two options, and free will is no longer an option. The concept of free will is not the ability to choose between vanilla or chocolate ice cream, one being salvation and the other damnation. But rather, the ability to choose whether you want ice cream or not, without repercussion. The entire concept of salvation through works not only proves that God does not offer free will, but also that Jesus sacrifice was not for all mankind.
