What is the specific cause of thoughts and ideas? I am looking for a scientific cause and effect explanation. Not a vague explanation of neurons and chemicals and synapses. Neuroscience tells us a little bit. But doesnt explain precisely how one can imagine a bunny rabbit as being depicted in the clouds. It can tell us that human have strong pattern recognition skills, but not much about any specific pattern. Neuroscience doesnt tell us exactly how an author comes up with all of the ideas for a novel, or how a songwriter comes up with specific melodies and lyrics. Is there any demonstrably applicable use of cause and effect to explain these things, except in vague overarching principles?
