What kind of week am I having? I’m glad you ask. 1. Monday: I was mowing the front and back yard with the push mower when the gas tank fell off for no good reason. 2. Now I had to spend time looking around the yard looking for the parts in the grass (including the throttle linkage). Found it all except the bolt that holds the tank to the mount. I do have thousands of nuts and bolts I have been saving over the years, and found the only one that fits after 30 minutes of going through all the bins. 3. I set the bolt down and set everything together to fit on the mower and forgot where I set the bolt down at. (another 10 minutes looking for it) 4. Put everything together and found the linkage was put on wrong. 5. I had to take everything apart to set it in there right and the one and only bold decided to evade me for 5 minutes. 6. Finally ready to mow, and now I do not feel like it. Tuesday 1. I replaced the blades on the riding lawnmower last week and started to mow the field when the blades quit turning. I find out I need a new belt. Now this is not an easy job for a layperson such as myself. 2. Procured a new belt for said mower and proceeded to install the belt. After much noise being omitted from my vocal cords (@^#!*^) I’m finally off to mow the field. 3. Two thirds of the way of job completion the blades quit turning with a noise that made me go “Uh oh”. Belt idler (pulley) came apart. Wednesday 1. Picked up a new idler (pulley) for the mower and again as a layperson I was looked forward wishing I was wealthy enough to hire a lawn keeper. 2. After taking off the piece that was broken I started to reassemble the parts and found yes you guessed it a nut fell off from under the mower into the sand. (@#%^&*~). Oh yes I also found a big hole in the mower deck. A future job. 3. Back to bins and found two that fit and then found the original in the sand. (yes I did have a tarp down under the mower but the bolt decided to play hide and seek with me). 4. I did get it back together again and with much fanfare and a smile, I completed the mowing job. 5. I like to clean up the equipment before putting it away and I decided to check out the mower deck and found the other idler (pulley) is ready to come apart. That will be for another day. ****Next week.**** Maybe. Now ask me again how my week is going.
