What my 8th grade daughter wrote in the school newspaper for today... Thank You Veterans Thank you for risking your life to make mine better. Veterans help bring peace to the world to make it a better place for future generations. The people willing to give themselves up for the sake of a brighter future are worth more than all of the money on this planet. I salute to those people. Just think: without veterans or people working in the armed forces we might not be here. They fought wars, risked everything they had, to make sure we could be here today. We need to remember them not just on November 11th, but every single day of the year because they made it possible for us to live the way we do. They made it possible for us to feel safe. If they hadnt fought for us the world would be much darker than the sweet sunshine that we see each day when we wake up, we might not even have the privilege of going to school let alone owning a cell phone. So the next time you see a veteran show them how much you appreciate what they did for you. Say thank you or even salute them. It shouldnt be embarrassing, be proud to salute those who gave everything so we can live like we do today. This is why each year we gather on November 11th to give praise to these amazing people who cared so much they would endanger themselves to let us stay safe. Thank You Veterans
