What people think of you and I, or what we say is based on their understanding of life and their understanding of you. One of the reasons that gossip is so damaging is because if one is willing to listen to gossip so easily and believe it, then what we say and do will be judged by that persons understanding of life, of what they know about you that is true and the gossip. Gossip is a person telling others something about another person. Some truth mixed with lies and exaggerations etc. We have all been victims of exaggerations, lies and gossip. It is no fun. Here is an example: A woman has a gripe with a man. She gets family and friends to support her by telling half-truths and outright lies. She tells everyone that this man is a child-abuser. A lie that her family willingly accept, and friends readily believe. Now wherever this man goes those that are weak-minded and gullible will judge him by that gossip. The gossip isnt true but they seem to want to make it true because it is something to gossip about, and get self-righteous about. If the man takes movies or photographs of children people will nod their heads with shock and disgust. Or maybe he is taking a movie of his own children, or of natural surroundings but no matter what the weak will be fooled. Eventually something will happen. He will be hurt by people believing that beating him is doing good, or the gossiper will finally be caught out. Please for your own sake and to help innocent victims of gossipers, dont listen to gossipers. Innocent people are the victims of gossipers. Lets not give gossipers and troublemaker the power to hurt peoples lives. All the best from James M Sandbrook.
