What the devil wants to steal from you is your joy. He hates - TopicsExpress

What the devil wants to steal from you is your joy. He hates seeing joyful Christians. He rejoices when we are sad. But you know what? He runs mad when he sees us joyful despite the hardship and bad situations. I have come to understand that miracles and even blessing are not the source of our joy as believers. Our source of joy is the abiding presence of God and the hope of eternal life. We are pilgrims you know. We are not from here. So even if we are not rich it cannot stop our joy. Our joy is that we are saved and have the presence of God. Blessings and miracles can even be a distraction to our joy. For example if God does not bless us when we expected we may become sad. But if you have joy, you will know that He knows the best for you. Blessings are for our happiness here. Our joy is not limited to what God should do for us nor is it determined by what He has done, our joy is dependent upon our faith in Him and the hope of eternal life. The early Christians were poor and were persecuted but their joy was full. They burned and died in amphitheatres with heart full of joy. .....As Elder Theophilus was being burnt, he was heard singing hymns that touched the heart of the spectators gearing his death, there was sobberness in the amphitheatre that many souls were touched because of his joyful death. Never allow Satan clog up the well of Gods presence in your belly. It is the source of your joy. Nobody can worship God without joy. When you are sad just start worshipping and your joy shall overshadow your sorrows. Weep not for the Lion of the tribe of Juday has prevailed. Your sorrows is for a night, your mornings are already here.
