What we are working on now: Just obtained surrounding property owners information this morning and we are going begging to the rail road, church, state, city, and private owners.... and see what we can come up with! There is so much more to it than people realize. Even before we obtain the land through either donation or purchase we have to have the soil tested as it looks like there was an old gas station near there and several other businesses on the land and we surely do not want to build something for children and the public on contaminated soil. If soil is contaminated then you need the EPA to decide on how we do the remediation(removed and cleaned up). and if it is affordable to do. These decisions would have to be made prior to any donation or purchase.of property. Say we are able to go forward after obtaining the land there is planning and zoning to deal with on regulations etc, Engineering which we are hoping to get by USA. for the design and sustainability. Maybe a hands on project for their students. We want to approach suppliers for donations of Materials and equipment to make this happen and we need to get the community together to build it. What I mean by getting the community together to build it We would have teams to get certain things done . (even the land clearing is labor intensive) and have a support base to help the people who are actually doing the building. By support base .. We are going to need someone to feed us(I say us because I myself will be out there doing manual labor) So those of us who really want to help but physically are unable to do labor, can cook or serve food .. drive by honk the horn and spiritually lift us up.~~K(Katherine)
