Whats on my mind? People who commit to work, then flake out. I - TopicsExpress

Whats on my mind? People who commit to work, then flake out. I wish talent understood the ripple effect. To my reputation and credibility, let alone their own. Example: Talent submits for a project because they say: they are interested, available and want to work, ok with the pay, ok with the distance, ok with a partial night shoot. (FYI, this is a period piece, so wardrobe doing fittings or at the very least getting sizes to pull costumes). I spend hours creating a board or pages for the Directors review. The Director reviews and make his selections. Costumes and Hair review directors selections. Production authorizes me to book the Talent. I reach out via email and phone and confirm the talent is still available (twice, once last week and again on Tuesday). Talent accepts the booking and confirms. Director is content because he knows this is done and he can move on to all the other elements of his shoot. Wardrobe pulls costumes to fit you and match the Directors vision. Then the cancellations start coming. My favorite one was last night~ I wont go into details, but it really got to me. All Im asking is for talent to NOT take a job if they dont mean that they are committed to it. The cast and crew deserve that much. Just say no and someone will replace you. Because you can be replaced, but if we do it last minute, your just making our whole process miserable. End Rant
