What’s the best holiday you’ve ever been on? Where did you go and why was it so great? Fern says of her best holiday... My best holidays were spent in a static caravan, on a cliff, in Cornwall, that I bought when the children were very little. Wed go down as soon as the schools broke up and Id spend the entire summer bare foot and make up free. The kids made friends with the other children really quickly and flocks of them would squeal up on ancient bicycles which theyd drop outside the door. In minutes they would have swirled inside the van, eaten all the crisps, drunk all the milk and vanished to another set of parents. Phil and I would collect mussels from the rocks and hed cook them up for supper. The kids have never forgiven me for filling a paddling pool up outside which Id use as a sort of sheep dip to rinse off their sandy bodies before they came in for the night.
