What’s your South Etobicoke Neighbourhood Icon? Hello Everyone, Submit your photographs depicting the unique identities of Alderwood, Long Branch, Mimico & New Toronto! Winning entrants will receive an awesome prize pack! Photographs should focus on the built environment, landscape and expressions of community spirit or memory. What’s your South Etobicoke Neighbourhood Icon? is part of Culture Days (Sept 27 - 29) and is presented the Assembly Hall (City of Toronto) in partnership with SUB|URB. What’s your South Etobicoke Neighbourhood Icon? Photo Gallery Winning entrants will receive an Awesome Prize Pack! We are seeking photographs which depict the unique identities of Alderwood, Long Branch, New Toronto and Mimico. Photographs should focus on the built environment, landscape and expressions of community spirit or memory. Deadline for photos is Wednesday, September 11, 2013. The photograph, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the entrant. There is no limit on the number of entries per person. Submitted pictures will be presented at a community photo gallery on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 6 pm at the Assembly Hall. Attendees will discuss and determine the most emblematic images. Each of the final photographs, three from each neighbourhood, will be adapted as a silkscreen, allowing for printing on t-shirts, and tote bags as part of Culture Days on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Assembly Hall. Culture Days is an annual three-day national celebration each September that invites participation in free interactive activities that promote cultural spirit and passion. HOW TO SUBMIT PHOTOS Email your photo, your name, the location of where the photo was taken, a short description (30 to 50 words) of why the photo is representative of the neighbourhood to [email protected] no later than Wednesday, September 11, 2013. Digital files must be 5 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or JPG format, and should be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image).
