When Batman got his new look in 1964, the old costume was still in - TopicsExpress

When Batman got his new look in 1964, the old costume was still in continuity. When Spider-Man traded his red & blue threads for the black costume, the original still existed in-story. When Black Canary wore that disco-looking outfit for a time, the old fish-nets were still hanging in Dinahs closet. When Superman received that gawdawful puke of a retro-90s, grungy, gawdy and junk-displaying outfit, DC retconned away the original, iconic costume known by literally billions worldwide from having ever existed. If they were going to ditch the trunks, why did they go even farther by wiping the classic costume out of continuity and proclaiming it never happened?! This bugs me even worse than the sleazy new costume does. It isnt JUST the wardrobe change -- its the principle of the thing! But principles AINT in the New 52 lexicon; never were, never will be!
