When Evil Strikes Psalm 85: 4-7 Restore us again, O God our Savior, and put away your displeasure toward us. Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger through all generations? Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? Show us your unfailing love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation. When evil strikes, one of the last things most people think to do is to affirm Jesus. For when evil strikes, the purpose of evil is to get you to doubt, to wonder if Jesus is or was real, and to question the existence of God. Evil wants you to affirm you do not know what you believe. However, when evil strikes, you must remember in the life of Christ evil tried to destroy Him at the beginning of His life. Later on, evil tried to foment evil ideas in the minds of leaders and rulers during His ministry. Finally, at the end of our Lords earthly life, evil struck one last horrible blow by torturing and crucifying our Lord. So it isnt as if Jesus does not know about you and about your life when evil strikes. He knows all too well what life is like in the depths of your despair when evil comes against you. However, Jesus came back. Jesus overcame. Jesus won out. Jesus wants and expects you to come back, to overcome, and to win out as you call upon Him every hour. Pastor Rubin Wilson
