When I called the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Organization to thank them for the beautiful program they put together, I found out some information that I would like to pass on. Your claim does not have to be approved to be part of the program. You just have to fill out some paperwork, send the application, DD214, and Death Certificate. They will then determine if it is accepted. Since they have accepted Cholangiocarcinoma on my application and others, I think there is a strong possibility that they will be approved. So, just because you have not gotten your claim approved through the VA does not mean you cannot apply for this program. Just letting everyone know, so you can think about it for next year.
