When I was working for a self important, employee shafting company that shall remain nameless, a new employee decided to strike up a conversation. I dont rennet how it got there but eventually he asked I bet you know how to fight?...upon seeing my Denzel No you didnt face he added for good measure Yeah I mean all blacks know how to fight...right? PAUSE. Now here you can implement all sorts of commentary about how each of you wouldve done this or pulled that, or wished he would if a wood chuck could. But I looked at him and saw ignorance in its purest form, and rather than put on my monkey suit, I simply asked him When have you ever in life encountered anything where it was true in EVERY case? He quickly thought about it, laughed and said guess not, sorry bro, like seriously my bad, Im from such and such ( some Midwestern place) and I guess Im a bit retarded when it comes to stuff like that that was the point when I first learned that discourse and logic, are much better suited for change than narcissism, and self righteous anger. Im not saying its never a time to be angry, and Im not saying Im not a narcissist, Im saying that whether your black, or white, feminist, or chauvinist, Palestinian, or Israeli, its equally important to have listened as to be heard, to be a community as is an individual, to admit wrong as is be right. ..Btw shout out to Quincy Jones for your handling of that discussion. Anytime youre on my side of town holla at me, we can chop it up.
