When I was young I heard people say bgs when referring to blood - TopicsExpress

When I was young I heard people say bgs when referring to blood sugars or blood glucose, so now thats what I always write when referring to a blood sugar reading. But I also see people using bs as a way of shortening blood sugar or blood glucose and its funny because I always have to remind myself that they mean their blood sugars, not bull shit. What I am wondering is: is my method of bg or blood glucose a generational thing? or maybe a Midwestern thing? Or do we basically pick up whatever shorthand our diabetes team initially uses during our DX?
