When Im facing a pile of unfinished work, I dream of a one-room existence. There, everything I own fits neatly into a 16 x 20 space. Its usually far from town, in or near the woods. The thick walls absorb heat; that way, the potbellied stove doesnt have to work as hard. My bed folds out from wall and hides away during the day. The tiny kitchen and bath are efficient, perfect for one person. I have what I need—nothing more. The vision grows stronger with every deadline. One day, Ill follow it. And I wont look back. © R. S.
