When Ronald Reagan became President the economy was so bad under the Democrats that he stated in his first inaugural address: “You and I, as individuals, can, by borrowing, live beyond our means, but for only a limited period of time. Why then should we think that collectively, as a nation, we are not bound by the same limitations? We must act today to preserve tomorrow.” President Reagan delivered on his promise. He cut taxes and created an incentive for citizens to make money. Under Reagans leadership the total population under the poverty line DECREASED by 3.8 million people with 20 million private sector NEW jobs added to the economy. The number of black-owned businesses increased from 308,000 in 1982 to 424,000 in 1987. Reagan’s policies brought America 92 consecutive months of economic growth. The number of poor blacks also fell by 400,000 and black people still talk bad about him. I wonder how Obama’s numbers will look at the end of the day?
