When a QB of a football team throws an interception, they - TopicsExpress

When a QB of a football team throws an interception, they completely forget about it and move on. When weathermen (and women) issue a High Wind Watch, and the storm turns into a powder puff normal wind storm, they too forget about it and move on. What I can report on was the amount of rain we received. Various rain amounts reported around Oak harbor via personal weather stations. Those ranges were from a 0.37 inches (at NAS Whidbey Island) to 0.60 inches. My station reported 0.41 inches. I can also say that high winds tend to rock water gauges enough to trick them into thinking they got water. Therefore, I would go off of what NAS Whidbey Island received. We will see rain at times tonight... not that it matters, most of us will be asleep. There is also a chance of a thunderstorm tonight. Lightning strikes have been reported near the coast and could come inland. Onto Thursdays storm! So a High Wind Watch is issued from 4 PM PST Thursday afternoon through through 4 am PST Friday morning. We are looking at south winds of 30 to 45 mph with gusts to 75 mph which has not changed since tuesday. Only the timing has changed pushing the wind storm later into Thursday night. This storm is still forming and a lot could change. Even after reading NWS of Seattles Scientific weather discussion, and viewing the various models, I am not all that confident in this storm. This storm is very different than the Wednesday storm! There are two potential paths for this storm. One takes it up the Oregon/Washington coast which I believe would give us the most rain due to the south to north flow and wrap around moisture. The other path takes it across the Oregon/Washington border along the Columbia River. I think this would give us rain, just not as much. I believe this pattern would also give us the least amount of wind. None the less, will have to sneak away from work tomorrow to update everyone if needed but I suspect the High Wind Watch will stand regardless... because weatherman have short term memory loss.
